Take a step back … and agree even more vehemently with everybody “fired up” enough to assert aggressively. The more they explain, the more vehement you become. “Yes, indeed”. “Yes, you see”. Never yet say “I agree”. The more emotional they are, the more you seem to be in charge, to be in agreement with them.
Dee-charge their fire, provide a swift energetic way-out, changing the aura from fire to cool, to the point “neutral”. They’ll be more likely to see it through. And you never have to say “I agree” or “I hate you”.
