What your kids want is your protection.
They want to know that you are there no matter what. That they can tell you everything they are thinking, everything they are feeling and that is fine. That everything is fine while they are figuring out their own way.
They don’t want you to solve their problems, answer to their questions, meeting or removing their challenges. They want to know that you are there, and they are therefore protected so they can jump start into themselves, into their own discovery of their lives and selves.
Be there for you kids, first base is always important for the protection it holds.
